Baby Bobcat Wanders Into Auto Parts Store
SANFORD, Maine -- It was no ordinary kitten that wandered into an auto parts store in Sanford. It was a feisty, frightened bobcat.
The tiny feline entered VIP Auto on Monday, just as Jason Hamilton arrived to buy new tires. Hamilton said he tried to call it to him as he would an ordinary cat, but it wouldn't come.
The bobcat wandered the length of the store before heading into the bathroom, where it hid behind the toilet. Sanford police arrived, agreed it looked like a bobcat and summoned a game warden.
Warden Alan Curtis donned thick gloves and brought the kitten out in a red plastic basket. It was then placed in a cardboard box -- with a lid and air holes -- and was taken to the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray.
